A Record Breaking Year for the Bexley Moorings Project
On the 15th September 2017, 15 teams gathered at the Pedham Place golf course to participate in the annual charity golf day for the Bexley Moorings Project. Unlike last year, the sun shone down on the players and course making the event even more enjoyable for those who took part.
Great support was received in the lead up to the event and on the day itself, resulting in a record breaking sum of £3800 being raised, beating last year’s fundraising figure of £3200. Money raised from the auction which concluded the event totalled £1700, with notable purchases being for a House of Commons Whisky, kindly donated by James Brokenshire MP, A table for two including full hospitality in Charlton Athletics Centre Circle Lounge, kindly donated by CAFC and a prosecco afternoon tea in London, kindly donated by ITRM.
ITRM work very closely with the Bexley Moorings Project, providing free IT support to the charity and sponsorship for their golf day every year. We are very grateful for the support received from clients and friends who joined the day and hope that they will support next year’s event also.
ITRM have a comprehensive corporate social responsibility programme which includes supporting several local charities including Moorings, the provision of work experience opportunities and apprenticeships. We are currently working with the Bexley Moorings project to explore other opportunities to support them and their fantastic work.
The Bexley Moorings Project supports over 200 young people within the Borough of Bexley through one to one work and group activities. The young people supported are vulnerable and are referred from a variety of sources including social services and schools. The Project helps to get children engaged and builds upon their confidence to allow them to achieve things that at one time would have seemed impossible. Recently the Moorings Project have suffered a funding cut from the Council and now rely heavily on the commitment of their fantastic team of volunteers and fundraising events such as their annual golf day to operate.
