CRM logistics are an award winning, multi-modal logistics company, providing freight forwarding services in the south east.
CRM engaged with ITRM in late 2016, as their existing IT infrastructure was aging and had been outgrown by their business.
CRM required a more refreshed, reliable IT infrastructure and selected ITRM to design and implement this. In addition, they were unhappy with the level of support provided by their incumbent IT supplier, so were looking for a reliable partner for ongoing support.
ITRM’s service delivery team completed a detailed network review of CRM’s existing infrastructure which enabled us to identify existing and potential vulnerabilities, some of these included:
- Their server was ageing and was without a valid warranty
- Too much data was being held on their server
- Their business had outgrown SBS 2012
- No patch management
- Their UPS was old and was without active management interfaces
Together with CRM’s team, a project plan for the implementation of several necessary solutions was agreed and an IT strategic roadmap, encompassing their corporate plans and budget, was created to address their IT requirements for the next 3-5 years.
The infrastructure project was broken into two phases and included the following:
- Replacement of existing UPS as per manufacturers recommended guidelines
- Replacement of 2 existing servers with a new virtual host
- Implementation of a Remote Desktop Solution
- Secure removal and disposal of old infrastructure and services.
Upon the completion of the final phase of CRM’s IT infrastructure refresh, including full testing and support, ongoing support was handed over to ITRMs technical team.
The solutions implemented by ITRM have provided CRM with a suitable IT infrastructure, the ability to better forecast their future IT spend and reliable ongoing support to ensure the smooth running of every day operations.
ITRM have taken the time to fully understand our business and have built an IT infrastructure that will assist us in achieving our business goals. Our account manager and the ITRM technical team involved us in this process, building a solution which will last for the next 3-5 years so we have been able to plan our IT budget and future spend accordingly.
