Supporting Digital Access Through Secure Technology Reuse
At ITRM, we believe technology should be a force for good, supporting communities, protecting data, and reducing environmental impact wherever possible.
That’s why we were proud to support our client
Falko in donating a number of refurbished laptops to local primary schools and a community organisation in Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas. The donated devices have been distributed to
Howe Dell Primary School,
Oak View Primary School in Hatfield, and
Community Action Dacorum in Hemel Hempstead, helping improve access to technology for both young learners and adults at risk of digital exclusion.
Before any device left Falko’s environment, ITRM securely wiped all data from each laptop, ensuring complete data protection and compliance with best-practice information security standards. This step was vital in guaranteeing that no sensitive or personal information could be accessed and that each device was safe and ready for reuse.
The laptops donated to the local primary schools will support digital learning initiatives, including coding, creative projects, and the development of essential digital skills. Meanwhile, Community Action Dacorum will use the devices as part of its Staying Connected project, which provides technology access to hundreds of individuals who would otherwise struggle to get online.
By securely repurposing existing hardware, this initiative not only protects data but also supports the circular economy, reducing electronic waste while making a meaningful social impact.
We’re delighted to have played a small but important role in this initiative, helping Falko support its local community while ensuring that data security is never compromised, even when devices are donated for good causes.
