Well-executed office move brings closer collaboration

Since 1994 Falcon Group, a leading inventory management solutions business, has provided over USD 22 billion of finance to its clients, in over 20 countries.

For 25 years It has achieved strong and successful growth by providing bespoke solutions to large corporates and multinational companies, allowing them to expand and meet their corporate objectives.

The Challenge

Falcon used to occupy space in one of London’s most famous Skyscrapers, 30 St Mary Axe, aka the Gherkin. But rather than continue to lease space, it had a fortuitous opportunity to buy the Grade 2 listed four-storey building at 60-62 Lombard Street, a street that has hosted merchants, banks and insurers since Medieval times.

In order for the building to be suitable for Falcon’s purposes, the building was completely gutted and refurbished, becoming the sumptuous offices it is today. In order to be fully functional the day the offices opened for business and minimise business disruption, ITRM rose to the challenge putting its excellent project management skills to good use.

The Solution

While ITRM had already worked with Falcon, the office move project was a great success and the new IT infrastructure played its part in Falcon’s achievement of its growth plans. It was also a catalyst for a closer and more collaborative working relationship between the two companies, with a long-term strategic focus on the business’ IT requirements.

ITRM identified the gaps that needed to be addressed and, working closely with key personnel from Falcon, drawing up a strategic roadmap and a timeframe in which to implement solutions, in order to address the immediate, as well as the longer term business needs.

This entailed a complete IT infrastructure refresh, including unified communications, for telephone and internet services. ITRM implemented the new infrastructure, keen to ensure that the technology was resilient, including high level data protection and business continuity capabilities.

In addition, a disciplined management review and reporting process, initiated by ITRM, reaffirmed to Falcon the value that was being derived from the relationship.

The Outcome
