2019 marks the centenary of the RAF Benevolent Fund, the RAF’s leading welfare charity.
To support its mission, to ensure every member of the RAF Family never faces adversity alone, IT is critical to the RAF Benevolent Fund achieving seamless communications between its staff and fundraisers, some of whom work remotely.
As its trusted IT partner, ITRM transitioned 120 users from an ageing on premise infrastructure, to Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform, ensuring a fully secure and resilient environment.
Throughout 2018 the charity spent more than £21 million supporting 53,000 serving and retired personnel and their families, wherever they are in the world. To mark its centenary, the charity is launching an ambitious campaign to help even more people and double its reach to 100,000 members of the RAF Family.
Gary Ross, IT & Facilities Manager at the RAF Benevolent Fund, said, “Our organisation only exists because of the beneficiaries we serve. IT is a critical part of identifying, reaching out to, supporting and serving them and to do this, we need a responsive and robust IT infrastructure to support our staff.
Gary continues, “When we shortlisted suppliers, ITRM’s consistency throughout the process and their enthusiasm and passion, certainly stood out. Since working with their team in January 2018, their technical expertise has added great value. Our IT security has improved, spend is reduced and we’re more efficient.”
Throughout the migration process the service delivery team worked on site at the RAF Benevolent Fund’s head office to negate any downtime and ensure a smooth transition.
