Corporate Social Responsibility – What does it mean to us?

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is hugely important to ITRM and has always been a focus for our business. Whilst our CSR programme involves several different areas, our contributions to charitable and community causes is a particular part that we feel very proud of.

Dave and John ITRM

ITRM have always played an active role within the community and for the last 7 consecutive years we have sponsored the Charlton Athletic Community Trust who are widely recognised for the fantastic work that they do locally. Within the Trust’s 2019/2020 annual statement they report that through a range of initiatives and programmes, their team has supported 46,778 people.

In addition to our work with the Charlton Athletic Community Trust, we have also partnered with a number of other nominated charities and ensure that we actively support them wherever possible.

Each year, ITRM help to organise and attend the annual charity golf day for the Bexley Moorings Project. This year, despite the current difficulties experienced due to Covid 19, ITRM and Bexley Moorings were joined by a number of ITRM clients who generously supported the day and raised over £5000. Read more about how this helps the Bexley Moorings Project in our recent news story.

This year, we have also supported the Best Beginnings ‘Champions for Children’ campaign. Best Beginnings work to inform and empower parents to help maximise their children’s long term development and wellbeing. This successful campaign has enabled Best Beginnings to support more parents experiencing isolation and anxiety, to help them give their children the best start despite the pandemic. The Champions for Children appeal raised an amazing £100,000 and ITRM’s own donation has helped support 21 families in the UK for one whole year!

ITRM remain committed to supporting charities and the community positively as an organisation. We also try to do this indirectly too by supporting our staff with causes that they are passionate about. Our CSR programme provides staff with the opportunity to spend a day volunteering for a charity or community cause and we have also supported them individually in other ways!

There are many keen runners within the ITRM team and we often find that one person has registered the whole, often unknowing, team for a half or full marathon! Many of our runners have causes close to their hearts that they support and we like to cheer on their fundraising efforts and achievements across our social channels. These included ITRM’s Sophie Dean and Mark Gamlin who raised over £5,000 for Cardiomyopathy UK and Danny Hill who raised an amazing £7,000 for the Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice!! Our Managing Director, Dave White, changed things up a little and rowed the Channel to raise over £3500 for the Tree of Hope, AHOY and Cardiomyopathy UK.

We recognise what huge achievements these are for our staff, both in terms of their fundraising efforts and for their own personal reasons and we will continue to give them the support and recognition that these achievements deserve!

As the current pandemic has restricted so many charities and has placed such difficulty in the way that they operate, we continue to work together to find ways that we are able to offer support. Further to our CSR programme, we are also working with our industry partners to enhance the exclusive offers we are able to provide to the Charity sector within our IT Managed Services Portfolio.
